VOLTA has been removed from FIFA, meet Rush mode, the new replacement.
Discover the exciting new replacement for VOLTA in EA Sports' FC 25. Learn about the smaller pitch, unique rules, and fast-paced 5v5 matches that will reshape your virtual football experience.
The new series of the EA FC (formerly named FIFA) franchise is set to be released in September by EA Sports. In FC 25, there are many new features to be added, some old features that might return, and, well, some features that are rumored to be removed from the game. VOLTA, the popular street football mode, is on its way out, but EA has a replacement. Here’s what we know about the newly introduced mode, Rush mode in FC 25:
Smaller Playing Ground
In the new mode, the pitch is 41.5% the size of a standard football pitch, and the goal is 7 meters wide.
No Red Cards
There are no red cards in this mode. However, if you commit an infraction, you can receive a blue card, resulting in being kicked out of the game for one minute.
7-Minute Match
Matches are played 5v5 and consist of a single 7-minute set. After 7 minutes, there is a 2-minute and 20-second golden goal period, followed by a penalty shootout if necessary.
Old-Fashioned Penalty Style
Penalties are 1v1 against the goalkeeper, and you have 10 seconds to take your shot.
New Offside Rules
Similar to real football, offsides can only occur in the final third of the opponent’s ground, so it has nothing to do with the midfield line.
What Else?
- Free kicks must be taken through a pass, not a direct shot.
- There are no substitutions; only the 5 primary players are used.
- Stamina and injuries are also removed.
- Players do not get tired (unlike us, from the game though).
CONCLUSION
The removal of VOLTA from the FC 25 series marks a significant change, but EA Sports has introduced an intriguing new mode to fill the gap. With a smaller pitch, unique card rules, and fast-paced matches, this new mode promises a fresh and exciting gameplay experience. The alterations to traditional football rules, such as the removal of red cards and offside regulations, aim to create a dynamic and engaging environment. As we await the release, fans can look forward to exploring these innovations and seeing how they reshape the virtual football landscape.
